Infinite Power is the National Park Service’s contract partner to help produce the National Christmas Tree Lighting every year.
For some people, the holiday season starts the day after Thanksgiving.
For others, it starts with the Lighting of The National Christmas Tree in DC. For the team at Infinite Power, it starts a few months earlier than that, before most have even thought about where their thanksgiving dinner will be!
Infinite Power works closely with the National Park Service and other event partners in the weeks leading up to the National Christmas Tree lighting to make sure that this event continues into its 97th year. We lead the transformation, turning Presidents Park into the site of this televised event. Thousands of chairs for the ticketed public? Check. Restrooms and lighting so they are comfortable? Check. Tenting for the President, performers and even the audio guys? Check. Power for the Christmas Tree to make sure it stays lit all season… that’s right, Infinite Power handles that too!
While the event itself is only one day, Infinite Power is onsite for a few weeks before and after the event, managing many of the event infrastructure components. With a team of dedicated project managers we flex our event skills outside of the power and climate arena. Making this project even more challenging include weather conditions (snow in December can make working outside a little tough!), access to the site being highly restricted by the United States Secret Service, load in for the project being over the Thanksgiving holiday, and the appearance of the President to push the big button during the lighting. However, that’s more normal than not for us, and its all worth it the night of the event.
On behalf of everyone here at Infinite Power, we wish you all a safe and happy holiday season!
